AN ART INCUBATOR FOR CONTEMPORARY EUROPEAN NON-INSTITUTIONALISED THEATRE
Make a Move is an incubator which will bring together non-institutionalised theatre organisations and artists from all over Europe. This innovative project will provide the participants with the opportunity to develop their artistic and professional skills and grow their production proposals from the stage of creative ideas to different stages of production.
Make a Move will develop and pilot a sustainable transnational co‐creation laboratory. Focusing on the field of contemporary theatre, it will start with the development of a need-based curriculum, and will continue by implementing 3 co-creation sessions in 3 different countries. It will conclude by identifying a target of 5 theatre productions for the European Capitals of Culture 2020 in Rijeka (Croatia) and Galway (Ireland).
In the process, Make a Move will create capacity building tools and practices that will constitute a blueprint for a sustainable and mobile theatre incubator, as well as raise awareness about the societal and artistic significance of non-institutionalised artistic practices.
An Open Call has been published from November the 30th until December the 30th 2018. It is now closed. 127 artists and 42 collectives (representing 99 artists) sent an aplication. The Selection Panel met on February the 20th 2019 in Sitges (Barcelona) to select the 10 resident artists and collectives who will participate in the Make a Move Art Incubator.
